Just Walk and Talk: Tech That Doesn’t Slow Down Construction Pros

The construction world is all about being boots-on-the-ground. We do site walk-throughs to find problems, talk face-to-face to communicate tasks, and make phone calls or send texts to make sure things get done. Emails are there too, for anything important enough to leave a record. It’s a system that’s quick, direct, and works as long as we are physically there to keep things moving, chasing up on the next thing. But it doesn’t leave much breathing room and it is prone to repetitive chasing up and more frustrating conversations of “I told you that last week” and “No you didn’t”.

So, what if we could use technology to make this system more robust and clear-cut, but not slow it down? It would need to keep the quick, on-the-spot way of working, but also sort tasks automatically and follow up on them systematically. That’s why we came up with Billie.

Billie is an instant task communication system that lets us talk about issues and tasks as we walk around the site, and then automatically creates task cards that can be shared to our crew. It’s built to fit right into the way we work on site, but with the added bonus of automation and data intelligence. It’s not about changing everything, but about making the work we do every day better and easier.

Stay tuned, we will publish more practical toolkits for how to make our task management easier and faster!

Yours truly,

Billie
